Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how AyoMatch, operated by Favrs (“we,” “us”), collects, uses, and shares your personal information. AyoMatch is a dating service, so some of the information we handle is sensitive — including data about your ethnicity, heritage, and relationship preferences. We treat that information with particular care and only as described here.

1. Information we collect

• Waitlist: your email address, whether you are joining from a tribe or seeking one, and the tribe you name.
• Account & profile: name/display name, date of birth, gender, location, relationship intent, bio, photos, and the tribe or heritage you choose to display.
• Identity verification: when you choose to verify, our verification provider processes your selfie and, for the document tier, a government or national ID. We store only the verification result and a provider reference — not your raw ID document.
• Activity: likes, matches, messages, and how you use the service.
• Payment: subscriptions and purchases are processed by Stripe. We receive confirmation and limited billing details; we do not store full card numbers.
• Device & technical: IP address, device/browser information, and cookies needed to run the service.

2. How we use your information

To operate AyoMatch; create and show your profile; power search, matching, and messaging; process payments; verify identity and keep the community safe; notify you when your tribe opens or about your account; comply with law; and improve the service.

3. Legal bases (EEA/UK)

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of our contract with you; your consent (including explicit consent for sensitive data such as ethnicity/heritage and biometric verification); our legitimate interests in operating and securing the service; and compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent at any time.

4. Sensitive information

Information revealing ethnicity or heritage, and biometric data used for verification, is sensitive. We process it only with your consent and only to provide the features you use. You control what heritage you display, and you can remove it or delete your account at any time.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it with:

• Service providers that run the platform on our behalf — hosting (Vercel), database and storage (Supabase), payments (Stripe), email (Resend), and identity verification — under contracts that limit their use of your data.
• Other members, limited to the profile information you choose to display.
• Legal & safety: when required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the safety of members or the public.

6. International transfers

We are based in the United States and use providers that may process data in the US and other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for transfers out of the EEA/UK.

7. Data retention

We keep your information while your account is active and as needed to provide the service, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is legally required.

8. Security

We use technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including access controls and encryption in transit. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and to limit who can access it.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal information, and to object or withdraw consent. Residents of the EEA/UK (GDPR) and California (CCPA/CPRA), among others, have these rights. To exercise them, contact privacy@ayomatch.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

10. Cookies & analytics

We use cookies that are necessary to operate the service (for example, to keep you signed in). For usage insights we use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics that measure aggregate traffic without storing cookies on your device or tracking you across other websites. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

11. Children

AyoMatch is only for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

12. Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be posted here with a new date.
